FREMAP joins European Data Protection Day by highlighting the importance of privacy and the responsible processing of information as essential elements for safeguarding the health, wellbeing and trust of the working people it serves. This commitment forms part of the responsible management model that characterises the Institution, aligned with its purpose, mission and values, as well as with its approach to social responsibility and sustainability.
In the course of our activity, we process particularly sensitive data, including health-related data, in order to manage financial and healthcare benefits. FREMAP applies the highest standards of security and compliance, within the regulatory framework of the General Social Security Act and the General Data Protection Regulation, promoting a culture of proactive accountability across the organisation. As set out in the J61 Agent Report, the Institution maintains a robust data protection system, supported by top-level technical and organisational measures and by continuous awareness-raising and verification processes.
Coinciding with this day, FREMAP’s Data Protection Officer has renewed her certification under the national scheme of the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD), a professional recognition that strengthens the technical qualification of the role and consolidates our compliance model. This progress reflects the Institution’s determination to continue improving its management systems, ensuring transparency, integrity and the protection of the rights of all individuals who interact with Mutua.
The data protection team, together with the organisation as a whole, plays an essential role in ensuring that information is used only to the extent strictly necessary, proportionate and secure. Protecting data also means protecting the trust of mutual member companies, their workers and society as a whole.
FREMAP will continue to promote a culture based on prevention, risk minimisation and respect for privacy, integrating these principles into the continuous improvement of its processes and into its collaboration with Social Security, in line with its institutional commitment and with the corporate values that guide its day-to-day activity.
