Countries of the European Union (EU), European Economic Area and Switzerland:
1. The company or worker who is a member of FREMAP should visit any Office of the General Treasury of the Social Security to process the TA.300 form.
2. The company or worker must request the European Health Insurance Card at any support and information centre of the INSS (National Social Security Institute). It is issued immediately, after providing personal identification.
- EU: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Romania and Sweden.
- EEA: Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
- Switzerland: only for workers who are nationals of the European Union.
Non-EU with bilateral agreement:
1. Before being posted, the company or worker who is a member of FREMAP should visit any Office of the General Treasury of the Social Security to process the TA.300 form and visit the General Treasury of the Social Security to process the form for the country of destination.
- Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, USA, Philippines, Morocco, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Russia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Uruguay and Venezuela.
2. The company/worker is advised to arrange private insurance that covers non work-related injuries and illnesses, which will cover the cost of Healthcare for cases in which the Mutual Society will not reimburse the costs.

1. EU Member States, the EEA, Switzerland or with a bilateral agreement on healthcare (Andorra, Brazil, Chile, Morocco, Peru and Tunisia):
Any worker who suffers a work-related injury in these countries and requires emergency healthcare should:
- Visit public healthcare centres.
- Present the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
When these requirements are met, the worker should not pay for the healthcare received, since the bill generated by the healthcare provided will be channelled through the appropriate agencies, for example the INSS in Spain.
Situations which may occur:
- The worker visits a public healthcare centre and does not present the health insurance card: The worker or company will pay the bill without prejudice to subsequent reimbursement by FREMAP after submitting documentation to the manager.
- The worker visits a private healthcare centre and presents the health insurance card: The worker or company will pay for the healthcare received, and no reimbursement will be provided. Life-threatening conditions will be an exception.
- The worker visits a private centre and does not present the health insurance card: The worker or company will pay for the healthcare received, and no reimbursement will be provided. Life-threatening conditions will be an exception.
2. Countries with a bilateral agreement that does not include healthcare (Argentina, Australia, Canada, Colombia, USA, Philippines, Japan, Morocco, (except employees of this nationality) Mexico, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Russia, Tunisia (except Tunisian employees); Turkey; Ukraine, Uruguay and Venezuela).
A worker who suffers a work-related injury in these countries and requires emergency healthcare should:
- Visit public healthcare centres.
- Pay for the healthcare received.
- The worker may, after submitting documentation demonstrating the medical care, request reimbursement from the mutual society.

Health repatriation will only be allowed in cases when the FREMAP medical service considers it necessary. In this case, FREMAP will pay the cost of expenses relating to the repatriation.
The FREMAP medical staff will establish the means of transport and the schedule for the medical repatriation.

- Are travel expenses covered for relatives accompanying the injured worker during repatriation?
NO. In these cases, the relative is required to keep the bills and submit them to the processing authority, which will submit them to the FREMAP special benefits fund, where appropriate.
- Is non-urgent medical care covered?
NOT USUALLY. The injured worker should save the bills relating to the medical care to later submit them to the processing authority. However, the Service Officer and the processing authority will assess the status of the case to decide whether medical care shall be covered.
- Can a relative accompany the injured party in an air ambulance?
It will depend on the airline managing the repatriation. In general, and given the characteristics of this kind of aircraft, the presence of a travelling companion is not recommended.
- Is medical repatriation possible in cases in which the worker is on medical leave but there is no medical criterion justifying it?
If the worker can receive treatment abroad and the mutual society practitioner considers that there are no medical reasons to justify it, repatriation will not take place.
