FREMAP will protect more than 5.2 million workers by 2025

The Mutual consolidates its leadership with advances in sustainability, digital transformation, quality of care and good governance

FREMAP, Mutual Insurance Company No. 61, held its General Meeting of Mutual Members this Wednesday, July 15, at its headquarters in Majadahonda (Madrid), where the results for the year 2025 were presented.

During this period, the Mutual has consolidated its position as a leader in the sector, reaching an average protected population of 5,250,539 workers, which represents 24.51% of the total number of members of the Social Security System. FREMAP has also provided coverage to 414,020 member companies and has managed 469,497 contribution account codes.

In the economic sphere, social security contributions amounted to 5,722.39 million euros, while social benefits reached 3,694.61 million euros. These results have allowed us to close the year with a positive result of 58.69 million euros, reflecting efficient management focused on the sustainability of the system.

FREMAP's activity has been developed through a network of 207 care centers, made up of 179 care centers, 23 administrative centers, 4 hospitals with inpatient care and 4 day hospitals, in addition to the Intermutual Hospitals of Levante and Euskadi.

In the health field, the Mutual has managed 748,631 new care processes, with a total of 2,700,350 medical consultations and 13,977 surgical interventions, in addition to more than 1.8 million physiotherapy sessions and 438,995 complementary tests. Furthermore, it has strengthened its healthcare leadership by providing 130,964 healthcare services to workers from other mutual insurance companies, which represents an increase of 32.21% compared to the previous year.

In the area of ​​occupational risk prevention, FREMAP has developed 92,861 preventive actions aimed at 23,426 companies and 1,616 self-employed workers, reaching more than 1.5 million workers. In addition, it has promoted 1,104 outreach activities, with the participation of more than 24,000 attendees.

The social aspect has continued to be a priority focus of action. In this area, the Special Benefits Commission has granted 741 supplementary benefits amounting to 2.65 million euros.

The overall rating of the services provided has reached 8.46 points out of 10. Healthcare centers were rated 8.36 and hospitals 9.15.

At the end of 2025, FREMAP's workforce consisted of 4,842 professionals, of whom 62.27% are women, reflecting the Mutual's commitment to equal opportunities, diversity and talent development.

During his speech at the General Meeting, the Managing Director of FREMAP, Josu Esarte, highlighted the completion of the 2022-2025 Strategic Plan, whose results he described as very satisfactory, having met the objectives by reinforcing the quality of service, the efficiency in management and the commitment to people. A model of action that, he pointed out, has been driven across the board by sustainability and digitalization as axes of transformation and continuous improvement.

For his part, the Vice President of FREMAP, Mr. Pedro Barato Triguero, thanked all the professionals of the Entity for their work, dedication and commitment, as well as the trust that the mutual companies place in FREMAP every day. He emphasized that this shared commitment to protecting the health of workers, improving occupational safety and health, and efficiently managing public resources constitutes a valuable contribution that transcends the Mutual's activity, helping to promote more sustainable growth, greater competitiveness of the business fabric, and the creation of wealth and well-being for society as a whole.
