Join FREMAP: Self-employed worker

In order to complete your social security registration and be able to subscribe FREMAP's coverage for financial compensation for temporary disability due to common illnesses, work-related accidents and illness coverage and coverage for termination of activity, you must fill in form TA.0521 to register for the Special Regime for Self-employed Workers, specifying your mutual insurance company (FREMAP 061).

Once this documentation has been sealed at a Relevant Provincial Treasury Office, send it or submit it to the nearest FREMAP office: Centre Network.

1. For the change of mutual insurance company to be effective, it must be communicated to both the General Treasury of the Social Security and the mutual insurance company with which you currently have coverage. The deadline to request the change is open from 1 January to 30 September each year. Furthermore, when you submit the application, you must have been covered by your current mutual insurance company in the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers (RETA) since 1 January of the same year and not be on temporary sick leave.

2. To notify your current mutual insurance company of the change, you must submit the corresponding application, which you can download directly here.

3. Once completed, send the application to your current mutual insurance company. You can do it in two ways:

•  Signing the application by hand and submitting it in person at any of the mutual insurance company's centres.
• Signing it electronically and sending it by email to the mutual insurance company.

4. You must also inform the General Treasury of the Social Security of your intention to change mutual insurance company. This process can be carried out directly through the Electronic Office of the Social Security (SEDESS) or you can let the new mutual insurance company do it.

5. If you have correctly completed all the procedures within the established deadline, the change of mutual insurance company will take effect on 1 January the following year.
