Average rate
Through February 2026, 16.49 absences were recorded per 100 employees, representing a decrease of 11.06% compared to the same period in 2025.
The decrease in the average incidence of sick leave during these first four months of 2026 is explained by the downward trend observed in both contingencies. The incidence of non-work-related injury or illness was 15.34 cases per 100 workers, representing a decrease of 11.02% compared with 2025, while work-related injury or illness recorded 1.15 cases per 100 workers, a reduction of 11.54% compared with the same period of the previous year.
TD Index
Through April 2026, the overall TD rate was 6.16 days of absence per 100 days contributed, representing an increase of 4.58% compared to the same period in 2025.
This increase is due to the behaviour of non-work-related injury or illness, whose temporary disability (TD) rate stood at 5.72, an increase of 5.93% compared to 2025.
In contrast, the TD rate for work-related injury or illness was 0.44; which implies a reduction of 10.20% compared to 2025.
In conclusion, in the first four months of the year, these two indicators (average incidence and TD rate) show that although medical absences due to non-work-related injury or illness have decreased, the total days of absence for this type of injury or illness increased compared with the same period in the previous year. In other words, fewer absences but longer duration.
Diagnostic groups
The diagnostic group with the highest number of sick leaves initiated involved pathologies related to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), which accounted for 21.16% of all sick leaves.
Next are pathologies involving the respiratory system, which accounted for 14.62% of the total number of absences.
Duration of sick leave
Regarding total days of absence, musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) had the greatest impact, accounting for 34.14% of the total. Mental and behavioural disorders (MBDs) followed, with 17.15%.
